New Year New Me...

Well, it is now the beginning 2011 and I am still a single mother of 2. Nothing has changed much in the last year and a half other than the job. I am still teaching at a juvenile center. It is hard teaching those students as they don't care to learn and don't want to learn. Every now and then I get a bad taste in my mouth about teaching because of the students not caring about an education.

I am going to try and post more often and may share some funny stories from the woods. I will also try to post more projects this next year. I have found many new stamping blogs so I will start adding to my favorite blogs soon.

I hope everyone has a great year this year and all your dreams come true...I know I will be working towards all my dreams coming true...lol.

Nite Guys,

I have been stamping this week...but you will have to wait until another day to see my creations.

We have a festival every October in Blountstown called "Goat Day". It is a neat festival with vendor booths and crafts, food, music, and all kinds of activities. This year, my mom and I have decided to get a booth for the festival. I have been working on items to sell at the festival. Right now I am working on Halloween goodies. My sister-in-law is going to come over and help me make a bunch of goodies for "Goat Day". After we have done enough Halloween we will move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas Goodies.

We are also thinking about have a baked good selection at our booth. I decorate cakes as a past time (used to be a job). My sister-in-law had heard of this book called "Hello Cupcake" which has really cute cupcake ideas. We happened to find the book today at Michael's and I purchased the last copy.

As we get the goodies made, I will post them.

Well things have not been going so well lately. Due to budget cuts in the school district I was not rehired for next year. I hate that I am not teaching next year at this point but I have interviewed for a position in a different school district and have applied for several more. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Being without a job and a single parent can be really scary. The nice thing is that I am taking part of the summer off and will get to do more stamping and scrapbooking than I have been able to do in the past. I am hoping to be able to post more often to my blog.

My sister, sister-in-law, and myself are going to get together to stamp and scrap during the day hopefully starting tomorrow. I have lots that I want to do and don't like to stamp by myself. It is always more fun to stamp with others than by yourself. My sister has stamped and scrapbooked before and my sister-in-law is just starting out.

I have been working to get my stamping area organized but it doesn't seem to be getting that way. I have way too much stuff as my mom says...I am a hoarder. I like to collect the stuff and never use it...lol. I do use my stuff just not often enough. I have paper coming out my ears and am always buying more...never can have enough paper...or tools...or stamp sets. I got my new stuff in today and I can't wait to try it out tomorrow. I love the new In Colors that Stampin' Up! has this year.

I am so excited because I actually got to stamp tonight. I made three cards and will post pictures tomorrow. I got a new fancy printer/scanner/copier/fax and I don't have it hooked up just yet. It is out of the box, sitting on the desk, loaded with ink and paper...just need to install software to my laptop.

I have downloaded several card ideas to my Ipod so that I don't have to take my computer to the stamping/dining room table. I can listen to my Ipod and see a photo of a card I would like to try. I even downloaded the Mojo Monday layouts.

I am setting two goals tonight.
  • To make at least 2 different cards each night
  • To post more often and share the pictures of card
I am looking forward to this coming weekend. I will be at a singles conference with the singles from my church. These single advents are lots of fun. My parents are going to keep my kids for the weekend. Next month, there is one in Destin, FL, that I plan on attending also. I will let you know how the weekend went on Sunday.

Take care and until next time...be safe and happy stamping.

Its me again....

Well it has been awhile since I posted. I have been stamping some and will post those pictures this week, I promise.

Well, there are now 6 school instructional days until we take the FCAT. We are doing a bunch of last minute preparing this next week. I also have a FCAT administration meeting to learn how to administrate the test to the students.

Well, other than getting ready for the FCAT, I haven't been up to much. I have been surfing the internet looking for wonderful ideas to case when stamping.

Well have a great night and I will try to post more often.

I thought I would share a few things about me today and found this questionnaire on a blog tonight. I also added a few questions to this to tell you a little more about me.

1. If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be?

I have always wanted to live in the mountains in Colorado Springs but the mountains of Utah would be ok too. I want to be able to see mountain out of any window in my house.

2. What's your favorite article of clothing?
Sweats.

3. Favorite physical feature of the opposite sex?
Eyes and smile.

4. What's the last cd you bought?
Toby Keith

5. Where's your favorite place to be?
On the computer or in the bed reading a good book.

6. Where is your least favorite place to be?
In a teacher/parent conference.

7. What's your favorite place to be massaged?
Neck and shoulders.

8. Strong in mind or strong in body?
Mind.

9. What time do you wake up in the morning?
7:15 am. during the week and however late my girls sleep on the weekends.

10. What is your favorite kitchen appliance?
My mixer.

11. What makes you really angry?
People accusing me of doing something when I didn't do it.

12. If you could play any instrument at all, what would it be?

SUV but with gas prices I'll keep my compact car.

14. Do you believe in an afterlife?
Yes.

15. Favorite children's book?
This is a tough question. I really don't have a favorite...I have found that I like them all for the most part. What I usually do to see if I am going to like the book is to look at the illustrations in the book first. I'm a school teacher so I look at the pictures first to see if they will interest my students.

16. What is your favorite season?
Winter. I am not sure why but I love winter.

17. What is your least favorite household chore?
Loading the dishwasher. I would rather wash dishes by hand than load the dishwasher.

No tattoos. Don't like them and don't want one.

20. Can you juggle?
Nope.

21. The one person from your past you wish you could go back and talk to?
My grandmother. She always had fun stories to tell about her childhood and I wish I had paid more attention to them and recorded her telling them so that I could pass the stories down to my children.

22. What's your favorite day?
Saturday...I like that I don't have to do anything or go anywhere if I don't want to.

23. What's in the trunk of your car?
Chart paper, a box of Taste of Home cookbooks, children's barbie doll suitcase.

24. Which do you prefer, sushi or hamburger?
Hamburger all the way...don't want to eat raw fish.

25. What was the last book you read or what book are you reading now?
Just finished Sharon Draper's Darkness Before Dawn and am reading two books at the moment...Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and How to Find Your Match. One a young adult book and one a romance.

26. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?

I told you that I plan to start stamping and sharing ideas with you. So to get me started, I signed up for several swaps on Splitcoaststampers. I plan on working on them this weekend so I will share with you when I get them done.

Well the first week of school since the Christmas vacation is about to end. The math remediation class is going well. There is just so much to review that it is hard to pick out what you believe they really need the review in when they really need it all.

The girls are doing great. Breanna had made the A Honor Roll (first time ever--usually AB Honor Roll). Brookelynne is just trying to survive Kindergarten. Both girls love their teacher and have learned a lot from them this year.

Ok, I haven't written anything in a few days because I have been getting ready for school to start back. I had to go back to work on Monday and students came back today. It was good to see them again. They were a little hyper from vacation but soon got back into their routine. We have 41 more instructional days before we take the FCAT. We have a group of 8th grader doing a math remediation for the next 41 days. We are rotating them between the teachers every 8 days. Each teacher will be reviewing one of the strands for math. The good thing about this is that once you have done the lesson plans for the first 8 days you just get to repeat them for the rest of the nine weeks.

I hope soon to share with you some stamping that I have done. I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I have been stamping for 12 years now and I love it. Stamping is a way of relaxing. I think it is best done with a group so you can chat and have fun. Even though you usually don't get as much stamping done.
